The community partner, San Juan Unified School District, hosts a variety of services in order to provide an education for students in their district. One of these services is an after school program, Building Bridges to Student Success (BRIDGES After-School/ASSETs). This after school program primarily focuses on enriching the education of students in first to eight grade through homework assistance and disguised learning. The goal of this partnership was to assist the community partner with creating engaging content that also inspires students while promoting the development of life skills. This was accomplished through creating YouTube videos about a variety of subjects focused on exercise, cooking, and science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Overall, working with this community partner was an enriching experience as they enabled us to build up our skills in leading projects as well as improvisation in order to make interesting and educational content for the students.
