Bugs on Bugs Video by Jasmine Dugal and Lillian Jundi

The Biology 110 Lab students studied the "bugs" found on bugs! In scientific terms, they were isolating and culturing the microorganisms which inhabit arthropods just outside of the CHS campus building. Upon catching some bugs, students swabbed the bugs' backs and streaked the samples onto nutrient agar plates that were then stored away in the toasty incubator at 37 C. A week later, students were able to study the growth on the plates to identify and classify the types of “bugs” living on the arthropods. Don’t worry, the arthropods were returned safely to their habitats afterwards.
