Welcome to Service Learning!

Hello CNU students and faculty! Our names are Simrin and James and we’re student representatives from Service Learning Practicum. Service Learning Practicum is centered around learning about your unique skills and strengths and how you can implement these to serve others and the community. In the Spring 2021 semester, we sadly were not able to get hands-on experience due to COVID-19, but we were able to partner with Lassen National Volcanic Park virtually. Some groups worked on making infographics about the park, but the team that had the most impact made a Change.org to make the Pacific Crest Trail a national trail. This semester, since more community partners are back in-person, we’re teaming up with Project Optimism to learn more about the needs of our community. Project Optimism aligns the skills and expertise of community members with the needs of their community. It is an organization that aims to foster optimism through personal and professional development services such as K-college programs/curriculums and educational consulting. In addition we are working with CHS Sideline to bring you updates on our community engagement and create a bridge between CHS and our community partners. We hope to inspire and encourage others outside the class to join in and give back to their community!
